Kumar Sanu (actually Kedarnath Bhattacharya ; born September 23, 1957 in Calcutta ) is an Indian playback singer of Hindi films .

Life

Kumar Sanu's father Pashupati Bhattacharya was a renowned singer and composer who recognized and promoted his son's talent at an early stage. Kumar Sanu began his musical career in 1984. His breakthrough came six years later when he did the vocals for the film Aashiqui . It is in the Guinness Book of Records for the most songs recorded in one day; there were 28 titles.
