The extremely wealthy fathers Ranjit Rai and Harbanslal want to marry off their children, Ajay Rai and Madhu. They cheer them on a contract that the ignorant youngsters sign without having read it. When they discover their mistake, they burn the contract, because Ajay has fallen in love with Madhu's best friend Kajal and Madhu has fallen in love with Ajay's best friend Raja. Raja and Kajal both come from poor backgrounds and are a thorn in the side of rich fathers.
Now Ranjit and Harbanslal hire killers to get Raja and Kajal out of the way. When the killer tries to rape Kajal, Raja comes to her aid in good time. He beats up the perpetrator and takes Kajal comfortingly in his arms.
At a party, pictures come up showing Kajal and Raja in this embrace. This is misunderstood by Ajay and Madhu as a secret affair and the two separate from their respective partners. This is only right for the fathers, who skilfully arranged everything.
When Ajay and Madhu announce their wedding, Raja hatches a plan. Now he tries to rape Madhu and is successfully stopped by Ajay. Ajay comforts the now crying Madhu in her arms.
Images of this event also emerge. They are shown by Ranjit's brother-in-law at Ajay and Madhu's wedding. But that's not all: At the same time, he shows pictures of Kajal and Raja. Ajay finally realizes his mistake and is cleared up. Angry, he beats his father and then goes in search of Kajal and Raja. He apologizes to both of them and makes up with them. Raja and Madhu also find each other again. The fathers regret their mistakes and ask their children for forgiveness.
