action
Kiran is the daughter of a respected family who are eager to practice classical Indian singing. At a performance by the young singer Rohit Kumar, she is blown away and falls head over heels in love with her. She marries him against her parents' wishes. A short time later, she becomes pregnant and gives birth to her son Sunil.
After a few years, things are going well for Rohit, too, when he gets the chance to compose a film soundtrack. Both dream of success and so Kiran asks him to submit her tape. However, it does not. Kiran realizes that they are only living Rohit's dream - not theirs.
She is overwhelmed with the duties of a housewife and mother. After much deliberation, she decides to leave her husband and son, believing that this is best for everyone. As Rohit's career hits rock bottom, Kiran becomes a successful movie star.
Despite all this, Kiran tries to reconcile himself with Rohit, but the disappointment is great. Rohit's injured pride only makes matters worse. Eventually this leads to marital war in which both fight for the custody of their son. The verdict falls in Kiran's favor. Yet she realizes how much Sunil needs his father. So she decides to leave Sunil with Rohit. Thankful for her kindness, he notes that she once lived in this house too. Kiran seems to want to leave the house. When she arrives at the door, she closes it and smiles. So all three hug each other and the family is reunited.
