Aetbaar ( Hindi : ऐतबार, Urdu : اعتبار translated: trust ) is a Bollywood film and a remake of the US film Fear (1996). The film had no commercial success.
action
The couple Dr. Ranveer and Sheetal Malhotra lost their son in a car accident 15 years ago. All the more they take care of their only daughter Riya, who is studying at college. One day she meets the rebellious Aryan, with whom she falls in love. Unfortunately, Aryan is hiding his real face. Ranveer was skeptical from the start and soon comes across the answer. In an older newspaper article he reads about Aryan's dark past, which begins with the headline "Son Kills Father" (son murders father). Ranveer does everything he can to keep Riya away from Aryan, which he can't. Aryan has twisted the truth so much that he simply wraps Riya around his finger. So Ranveer has to watch as his daughter falls straight into her misery.
After a short pain, Ranveer regains his strength and wants to take action against Aryan again. He finds a file from a psychiatric clinic and keeps researching until he has enough evidence. With this information, he gets Aryan to make a confession. A confession that Riya also gets.
Aryan is taken away by the police and threatens to either take Riya with him or kill him. He keeps his word and escapes from the police car with the help of his friends. Angry, he goes on his way to get Riya back to himself. A physical altercation ensues in which Aryan is defeated and the family finally finds peace.

criticism
"(...) Since the look of" Aetbaar "is unspectacular and the four songs are not convincing (the title song" Aetbaar aetbaar "is still the least boring)," Aetbaar "leaves a mediocre impression. Rakesh Roshan's music, inspired by Bernard Herrmann, is quite nice, Amitabh as "Angry Old Man" is also quite good. And the number "Chhado chhado" is idyllically staged. That's enough to pass the time. Only real thrill can never be talked about. "(From molodezhnaja.ch)
