Shreya Ghoshal
Shreya Ghoshal (born March 12, 1984 in Baharampur , West Bengal ) is an Indian playback singer, who is known for her Hindi movie songs. She also sings in Oriya , Punjabi , Marathi , Kannada , Tamil , Gujarati , Telugu , Malayalam and Bengali .
Life
Her career began when she won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contest . At the age of 16 she sang for the first time in the film Devdas , for which she won three awards; National Film Award for best playback singer, a Filmfare Award for best playback singer and a Filmfare RD Burman Award for new musical talent. Since then she has received many other awards. Ghoshal was honored by the US state of Ohio , in which Governor Ted Strickland declared June 26th as "Shreya Ghoshal Day".
