Kailash Nath is a bank manager. His best friend Shankar Dayal Khurana also works at the bank and is jealous of Kailash's position. They decide to betroth their two children, Kishan and Sanam. During the engagement, Shankar (Sanam's father) robbed the bank and accused Kailash (Kishan's father) who went to jail. Kishan and his mother leave the city and settle in a village. When Kishan grew up, his mother reminded him of his engagement to Sanam. He comes back to town and finds his love totally changed. Her father is now a rich man and she is full of pride, arrogance and hatred. He wants to remind her of her past love again, but it's in vain. When he is about to leave, his friends challenge him to make her his wife. He accepts the challenge. When Kishan's father Kailash comes out of jail, he finds out that his own friend Shankar robbed the bank, and he wants revenge. A fight begins between Kishan, Sanam and their two fathers.
