Shakti - The Power (Translation: The force or violence) is an Indian action film by director Krishna Vamsi from the year of 2002.

Nandini lives in Canada with her two unmarried uncles. They have dedicated their lives to raising them and raising them in loving and tender surroundings. Nandini is a beautiful, loving, intelligent young woman, albeit a little spoiled. Your uncles have a medium-sized, successful department store that completely secures their livelihood.

Nandini marries Shikhar, who has lived in the States for eight years and is her best friend. Nandini and Shikhar soon have Raja - a son. Everything is perfect for three years, until one day Shikar learns about a bloodbath in a city in northern India on television. He is very excited and worried that his mother might be injured and that he would like to visit her for a few days. Nandini insists on going with him.

Once there, she realizes that his family is led by his charismatic, powerful and extremely violent father. Narsimha lives at war with his brothers. She is shocked and completely unnerved by this violent life, except for Shikhar's mother, who is good and never tires of persuading her not to go home to the States. But then Shikar dies in a fight between the two warring family members and Nandini is at the mercy of her violent father-in-law, who takes Raja away from her.

The way back seems impossible. Will she manage to escape with her son? Shortly afterwards she meets Jaisingh, a poor farm boy who helps her escape with her son. When the Jaisingh tire breaks, one of Narsimha's brothers finds the three and orders his people to kill Nandini and Raja. The three run away from his people. Soon they reach a railroad track and Jaisingh breaks a stop sign so that the train stops. A little later a train arrives and Nandini and Raja get on, but Jaisingh tries to distract the others. He succeeds but is so badly injured that he eventually dies. When Nandini reaches the airport, Narsimha also finds her and Raja but he only wants to tell her to take Raja to his funeral and says goodbye to both of them. Nandini and Raja can go back to Canada.
