George Englund

George Englund (born June 22, 1926 in Washington, DC - September 14, 2017 in Palm Springs , California ) was an American actor , film director , film editor and film producer .

Life

George Englund was the son of actress Mabel Albertson , who starred as Aunt Clara in the sitcom In Love with a Witch . His uncle was the actor Jack Albertson .

On April 19, 1953, Englund married the actress Cloris Leachman . The marriage had five children. The eldest son, Bryan Englund, died in 1986 of a drug overdose. Morgan Englund's sons , George Jr. and Adam Englund became actors like their parents. Daughter Dinah Englund pursues a career as a musician. In 1979, Leachman and Englund divorced. Since April 10, 1980, George Englund was married to actress Bonnie Graves for the second time. The son Max Englund came from this relationship.

George Englund and the actor Marlon Brando had a friendship that lasted almost 50 years. The two founded the production company Pennebaker Productions together with Brando's father in 1955 . The company has been responsible for films such as Sayonara , The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars , The Last Train and The Man in the Snakeskin .

George Englund wrote two books about his friend and colleague Marlon Brando, published in 2004 and 2005, respectively. He also co-wrote the autobiography of his ex-wife Cloris Leachman.
