Jonatha Brooke

Jonatha Brooke (born January 23, 1964 ) is an American folk singer and songwriter.

She first appeared as part of The Story . Then briefly as Jonatha Brooke & The Story , before she appeared fully as a soloist. Among other things, she set previously unpublished texts from the estate of Woody Guthrie to music . Guthrie's daughter Nora had invited the musician to rummage through the archive. She especially liked the poetic love songs like "My Sweet and Bitter Bowl" or spiritual lyrics like "My Battle", which she recorded in February 2008 for the album The Works .

In January 1996 Jonatha Brooke was in Germany for a few showcases. In May 1996 as well as in 2003 and 2009 she was on tour in German-speaking countries.

On Manu Katché's album The Scope , she sang the song Let Love Rule .
