Elisabeth Lennartz (born November 13, 1902 in Koblenz , German Empire , † May 14, 2001 in Küsnacht , Switzerland ) was a German actress .

Life

Elisabeth Lennartz completed her artistic training at a drama school in Frankfurt and began her first engagement in 1921 at the Leipziger Schauspielhaus . In 1923 she made her film debut with In the Name of the King . In 1927 she settled in Berlin to play at the Renaissance Theater . Since then she has been engaged on several stages in the German capital. She rarely appeared in films.

After the war, Elisabeth Lennartz primarily looked after her husband, the actor Gustav Knuth , and their sons. In 1949 the artist followed her husband to Switzerland, where he had received an engagement. There she only appeared sporadically in front of an audience, for example in the Zurich Schauspielhaus .

She found her final resting place next to her husband in the cemetery of Hinterriet / Küsnacht near Zurich.
