Me by day and you by night is a romantic comedy film by Ludwig Berger from 1932.

action

Grete works in a manicure salon and lives with the former theater actress Ms. Seidelbast as a sublet. During the day, when Grete is working, the room is rented to Hans, the waiter is in a nightspot and doesn't go to sleep until the morning. Grete and Hans have never seen each other. One day the two get to know each other and fall in love without knowing that they share the room. There are numerous mix-ups before the explanation and happy ending.

The music was written by the composer Werner Richard Heymann . Robert Gilbert wrote the lyrics to the songs . Together they also wrote numerous hits for the popular Comedian Harmonists , who made a guest appearance in this film at the Casanova nightclub . Willy Fritsch and Käthe von Nagy also sing other titles in this musical comedy .

The shooting for this film took place from August to the end of October in the UFA studios Babelsberg . Exterior shots were shot in the Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam . The buildings in the film were made by Otto Hunte . The premiere took place on November 18, 1932 in the UFA-Palast in Hamburg . On November 29, 1932, the film had its Berlin premiere.
