Max Irons

Maximilian Paul Diarmuid Irons (born October 17, 1985 in London , England ) is a British actor and model .

Life

Irons is the son of actors Jeremy Irons and Sinéad Cusack . His brother Samuel (* 1978) is also an actor. His half-brother is the Irish politician Richard Boyd Barrett (* 1968). He is the grandson of actor Cyril Cusack and his wife Maureen Cusack, as well as Sorcha Cusack's nephew .

He attended boarding schools in Oxford and Dorset ( Bryanston School ) and briefly a school in Zimbabwe . Though his parents advised him against an acting career, Irons studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama . There he graduated in summer 2008.

From 2011 to 2012 he was in a relationship with actress Emily Browning .

Career

In 2006, photographer Mario Testino took Irons on the street and booked him for a Burberry campaign alongside top model Kate Moss . He has already worked as a model for Burberry and Mango .

His acting career began in the feature film Being Julia . He gained attention for roles in The Portrait of Dorian Gray and Red Riding Hood - Under the Wolf Moon . His international breakthrough came with the role of Jared Howe in the film Souls , which is based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer .

In September 2012 he got the lead role in the Starz television series The White Queen as Edward IV .

Irons played the lead role of Miles Richards in The Riot Club in 2014 . In 2015 the film was released, The Woman in Gold , in which he was seen alongside Oscar winner Helen Mirren , Ryan Reynolds and Daniel Brühl .
