Johanna Thimig

Johanna Thimig (* 1943 ; † November 26, 2014 in Vienna ) was an Austrian actress .

Life

Johanna Marie Thimig came from a family of actors . Her parents were the castle actors Hermann Thimig and Vilma Degischer .

Thimig had theater engagements in Germany, a. a. in Bochum and Stuttgart . In the theater season 1962/63 she played at the Staatstheater Stuttgart next to Ulrich Matschoss in the comedy Oh father, poor father ... by Arthur L. Kopit . In the 1965/66 season she was engaged at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich . There she played the roles of 1st and 2nd Miss Ayola in Doña Rosita or the language of flowers by Federico García Lorca (premiere: November 1965; Residenztheater Munich) and Charlotte in the comedy Der Parasit by Friedrich Schiller (premiere: February 1966; Cuvilliés Theater). In 1982 she took over in a touring theater production of "Stage 64 Zurich" the role of Elizabeth von Ritter in the play forbidden land of Henry Denker ; her partner in the role of Sigmund Freud was Karl-Heinz Martell . In 1987 she played the king's daughter Goneril in King Lear in a touring theater production of the “Berlin Tour” in a production by Hans-Joachim Heyse ; her partner as Lear was again Karl-Heinz Martell. In the theater season 1988/89 she played at the touring theater Euro-Studio Landgraf in Max Frisch's farce The Great Wall of China . In 1991 she appeared at the Bad Hersfeld Festival .

In Austria she performed a. a. at the Theater in der Josefstadt (including as daughter Ottilie Klamroth in Before Sunset ), at the Wiener Kammerspiele , at the Neue Tribüne Wien and at the Freie Bühne Wieden . In 2005 she played the role of the "abysmal" Frau Wurmser in the world premiere of the play Darkening by Erika Mitterer at the Freie Bühne Wieden . In November 2005 she appeared at the side of Helga Papouschek in the Neue Tribüne Wien in the premiere of the one-act play An unfortunate coincidence by James Saunders . She had her last stage appearance in 2011, directed by Burgschauspielerin Elisabeth Augustin , in the play Queen Mother by Manlio Santanelli at the Freie Bühne Wieden; her partner in the role of the son was the castle actor Johannes Terne .

Thimig also worked on some film and television productions, including a. 1963 in Wolfgang Liebeneiner's television production of the comedy Charley's Aunt , with Boy Gobert as a partner.

Occasionally, Thimig was also active as a radio play speaker, for example in the production Wien West by Elfriede Jelinek (NDR / WDR 1971) and in society (Four Scenes) by Raoul Auernheimer (ORF 1980).

The funeral service for Johanna Thimig took place on December 10, 2014 at the Döblinger Friedhof in Vienna. The urn burial takes place in the family circle at the Werfenweng local cemetery in Salzburg .
