Elisabeth Augustin (* 1953 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress . She is best known as a castle actress .

Life

After graduating from high school, she attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar and graduated with distinction. After a year at the Schauspielhaus Graz she brought Achim Benning to the Burgtheater, her inaugural roles were "Nathalie" in "Prinz von Homburg" and "Quendolen" in "Travesties" by Tom Stoppard. This was followed by “Helena” in “Midsummer Night's Dream” and many other leading roles in the castle and academy, later also at the Reichenau Festival. For two years she was a guest at the Münchner Kammerspiele with “Jelena” in “Onkel Vanja” by Anton Chekhov . She is married to chamber actor Rudolf Melichar and they have three children, Valerie, Rosalie and Philip. She has worked not only as an actress but also as a director. She is interested in contemporary authors as well as classical literature and music.
