Stephen Andrew Baldwin (born May 12, 1966 in Massapequa on Long Island , New York , also known as Steve Baldwin ) is an American actor .

Life

Baldwin was born in Massapequa, New York. His mother is Carolyn Newcomb Martineau (* 1930), his father was Alexander Rae Baldwin, Jr., (October 1927 – April 1983), who died of lung cancer.

Stephen Baldwin is the brother of actors Alec , Daniel and William and was raised a Catholic. Baldwin also has two sisters: Elizabeth Keuchler (* 1955) and Jane Sasso (* 1965).

Baldwin has been married to Kennya Deodato since 1990, with whom he has two daughters. In March 2013, he was arrested by police after it was found he had not paid any income tax in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He promised to pay back $ 300,000.

Born again Christian and political statements

Since the attacks of September 11, 2001 , Baldwin has called himself a "born again Christian " and, among other things, opposes gay marriage and what he calls the "decline of America".

In the US election campaign in 2007 he supported the right-wing Republican Sam Brownback ; after Brownback gave up his candidacy, Baldwin supported Mike Huckabee . When he didn't have a chance, he supported the McCain / Palin duo and threatened to emigrate to Canada if Barack Obama were elected. After failing to deliver on this announcement, he pondered the possibility of running against his brother Alec in the 2013 New York mayor election.
