Police investigator Caleb Barnes is responsible for murder cases. He suffers from nightmares after his son is shot at school.
Barnes is looking for a serial killer who is active in his hometown and kills the victims with a hammer. He realizes that the killer's childhood experiences motivate him. The case is a psychological strain on Barnes. They want to hand the investigation over to another police officer, but Barnes finds the killer.
