Silas Weir Mitchell (born September 30, 1969 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania as Silas Weir Mitchell Neilson ) is an American actor , best known for his roles as Charles "Haywire" Patoshik in Prison Break and as Monroe in Grimm .

life and career

Silas Weir Mitchell was born and raised in Philadelphia in the US state of Pennsylvania. It is named after the 19th century doctor and author Silas Weir Mitchell . He is the St. Paul's School, graduated from Concord , New Hampshire in 1987, of Brown University in Rhode Iceland , where he Theater and Religion studied in 1991 and 1995, the University of California in San Diego , where he received his Master of Fine Arts made . After graduating from Brown, he appeared in smaller theater productions in New York City . At the beginning of his career he was increasingly in guest roles in various television series such as Palm Beach Duo , The Marshal , Emergency Room - The Emergency Room and New York Cops - NYPD Blue and television films such as Quicksilver Highway , Out of Control - Dangerous Desires and Route 9 to see . Mitchell's first major role was in Lawrence Lanoff's comedy Playing Dangerous 2 in 1996 and in Dean Semler's 1998 action film The Patriot . Up until 2003, other leading roles followed in Inferno , Born To Kill - Deadly Memories and Rat Race - The Naked Madness as well as guest roles in Practice - The Lawyers , Nash Bridges and Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forgotten .

In 2004 he starred alongside Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry in No Halves 2 - Now even more! the role of Yermo . Mitchell starred in recurring roles in 2002 in 24, and from 2005 to 2008 in Prison Break and My Name Is Earl . In each of the last two he played a crazy prisoner. Meanwhile, he played a small role in Clint Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers , based on the book Flags of Our Fathers: Heroes of Iwo Jima by James Bradley and Ron Powers, guest roles on the series Dexter and Burn Notice, and starring roles in The Phobic and The Child Killer .
