Robert Lyle Knepper (born July 8, 1959 in Fremont , Ohio ) is an American actor .

Career

Robert Knepper grew up with his parents in Maumee , Ohio, near Toledo . His father was a veterinarian, his mother worked in a theater in the prop . His mother's work aroused Knepper's interest in acting at an early age. He often starred in high school and small theaters in his youth . After leaving Maumee High School in 1977, he went to Northwestern University to study drama . During this time he also played many professional roles in Chicago . He dropped out of college before graduation and moved to New York City , where he continued to work in the theater.

Although Knepper had never planned to appear in films or television projects, he began his film and television career in 1986 in an episode of the television series The Paper Chase and the film That's Life! - Such is the life of Blake Edwards . He later appeared in DOA - Murder On Arrival (1988), Renegades (1989), Gas, Food, Lodging (1992), Blaze of Glory (1990), Murdered July 16 (1993), Everyone Says I. love you (1996) by Woody Allen , Phantoms (1998), Love & Sex (2000), Species III (2004), Hostage - Abducted (2005), Good Night, and Good Luck. Private life

Knepper was married to casting director Tory Herald from 2005 to 2010 , with whom he has a son (* 2002). He has been married to Nadine Kary since 2013.

accusations

In 2017, Knepper was accused of sexual assault on the set of Gas Food Lodging (1991) by costume designer Susan Bertram as part of the MeToo campaign . Four more allegations of similar misconduct followed between 1983 and 2013. All allegations have been rejected by Knepper and have not yet been proven.
