Problems arise when the unpredictable Richard becomes possessed by demons. The ranger Earl McGraw is shot dead in a robbery and his partner Freddie Gonzalez makes one last promise: to kill the Gecko brothers. Production and broadcast

The series is the first script-based series of the broadcaster El Rey , which is operated by Robert Rodriguez , the creator of the series. It is based on the film From Dusk Till Dawn with George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino in the lead roles.

In November 2013 the engagement of the actors DJ Cotrona , Zane Holtz , Jesse Garcia and Don Johnson became known. Robert Patrick , Madison Davenport , Brandon Soo Hoo , Eiza González as well as Adrianne Palicki and Jake Busey were later engaged for other roles.

The premiere of the ten episode first season took place on March 11, 2014. The season finale aired on May 20, 2014. On March 26, 2014, after only three episodes broadcast, the series was extended for a second season. While 13 episodes were initially announced, the number of episodes was set to 10 before the broadcast began. The day before the finale of the second season, the order for a third season became known.

In German-speaking countries, Netflix published the first season of the series on September 16, 2014 for the VoD provider's Germany launch . The episodes can be viewed either in the original sound, with German dubbing or with subtitles. From November 1, 2015, the episodes of season 2 will also be available. Season 3 has ten episodes and is also online on Netflix.

The RTL Television Group has secured the broadcasting rights for Germany . The Germany premiere took place May 4, 2016 at the Pay TV transmitter RTL Crime held. The broadcaster RTL Nitro will start broadcasting the series on free TV in July 2017.

Trivia

The series is strongly based on the original film from 1996. In addition, other elements from the work of Quentin Tarantino , who wrote the screenplay for the film, are cited. For example, the Big Kahuna Burger from Pulp Fiction , which also appears in From Dusk Till Dawn as a logo on a brown “To-Go” paper bag for food, appears in the series in the form of a snack. Likewise, characters or sayings from films like Sharky and his professionals with Burt Reynolds are quoted.
