Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (born February 25, 1981 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ; also Manuel García Rulfo ) is a Mexican actor . He gained fame primarily through his supporting roles in Hollywood productions such as Cake (2014), The Glorious Seven (2016) or Sicario 2 (2018).

Early years

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo was born in the Mexican city of Guadalajara, in the province of Jalisco, where he grew up on a ranch. There he learned to ride horses. In his teenage years he moved to the US state of Vermont , where he learned the English language . In his Mexican homeland, he attended the private university Universidad del Valle de Atemajac in Zapopan , which he left with a degree in communication studies . There he made the decision to go into the film business. He briefly studied at the New York Film Academy before taking on his first acting roles in his home country.

Career

In 2006 Garcia-Rulfo took on his first acting role after appearing in the short film Valle de lágrimas . In 2007 he took on his first role in a feature film as Mario in Maquillaje . In 2009 he played the role of Cristian in the French drama Le dernier pour la route . The film was a hit with critics and was nominated for four other César awards. After further appearances in Mexican film and television productions, he was seen for the first time in an American film in 2013 through his role as Uncle Pedro in Bless Me, Ultima .

After guest roles in series such as Ralph Inc. and Touch , he played a supporting role as Narciso Menendez in the series From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series from 2014 to 2015 . In 2014 he also played a small role as Arturo in the film Cake . In 2016 he first appeared as Pedro in the action comedy Term Life , before taking on one of the eponymous roles as Vasquez in The Magnificent Seven , a remake of the 1960 classic . In 2017 she played a supporting role in Murder on the Orient Express .

In 2018 Garcia-Rulfo took on a supporting role as Gabriel Ortega in the series Goliath . He also played a major supporting role in the action film Sicario 2 as Gallo .
