Michael Baral (* 1981 in Pforzheim ) is a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Michael Baral grew up in the Pinache district of Wiernsheim . After studying at the Munich acting school , he made his debut as a novel in the episode Death on Walpurgis Night from the crime series Der Bulle von Tölz . This was followed by a guest appearance in the ProSieben series Mallorca - Search for Paradise and other television roles in Coast Guard , Die Wache , Die Kommissarin , Die Rosenheim-Cops and Die Manns - A Century Novel (as Willi Süsskind). Since mid-January 2009 he can be seen intermittently in the role of Timo Zenker in Lindenstrasse .

In addition, after a few German cinema roles ( The Problem is My Wife , The Game and Winterberg ) , Baral played Hans alongside Armand Assante and Udo Kier in the Hollywood thriller Children of Wax (2007). Other cinema productions included the American-German production Unknown Identity (2011) and Männerherzen ... and the very, very big love (2011). In 2012 Michael Baral played one of the leading roles in another international project, the Russian film production Nyanki . In this film he speaks in three languages: German, English and Russian. In 2014 Michael Baral starred in the international movie A Hologram for the King with Tom Hanks .

As a theater actor, he worked at the Munich Comedy in the Bayerischer Hof and at the Neue Schaubühne as well as at the Lower Saxony State Theater in Hanover .

As a voice actor, he gave the character Tanda in the multi-part anime Guardian of the Spirit his voice. Furthermore, in 2008 he took over the dubbing voice of the main character Kyon in the Japanese animation series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya . In Vampire Knight , he voiced the supporting character Senri Shiki.

He has also been speaking for Netflix series since 2016, for Better call Saul as Nacho Vargas and in the lead role as Billy Russo on Marvel's The Punisher .

In 2016 Michael Baral was able to take part in other international productions: Bad Banks (Director: Christian Schwochow) and SS-GB (Director: Philipp Kadelbach), produced for the BBC in London.

In 2017 Michael Baral played a leading role in the ARD television film Doctor with Side Effects . He also played again internationally in the renowned series Victoria about the life of Queen Victoria as composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in England.

In 2018 there were a lot of different productions, from the explosive political thriller Wendezeit (as a US secret agent) to the ARD film Stenzels Bescherung (as a music producer) to various roles from the psychopath in the SOKO Donau to the family man in Morden in the north and finally again internationally as a long-sought SS criminal Joachim Peiper in the Second World War drama The Ardennes in London and Great Britain.

In 2019 he is again in front of the camera as a windy financial lawyer for the multiple award-winning European series Bad Banks at the side of Paula Beer and Barry Atsma.
