production

filming

Most of Victoria’s exterior shots were filmed in Yorkshire . The interiors of Castle Howard were depicted as Kensington Palace , Harewood House as Buckingham Palace , and Bramham Park and Wentworth Woodhouse were used for both. Carlton Towers is used as Windsor Castle while Beverley Minster represents Westminster Abbey . Other filming locations include Wentworth Woodhouse, Allerton Castle , Newby Hall and Whitby pier . Church Fenton Studios, a converted aircraft hangar near Selby , was used to display some of the interiors of Buckingham Palace.

development

According to a speech by Daisy Goodwin in October 2016, a Christmas special was proposed for 2016, but this was rejected by ITV, but as Victoria's popularity has been proven by the audience figures , there will likely be a Christmas special in 2017.

In September 2016, a second season of Victoria and a Christmas special for 2017 were confirmed, both of which will be shown in 2017. According to the ITV, a total of six seasons will be produced, but the leading actress will probably be replaced for the later seasons.

music

The title song was written by Martin Phipps and interpreted by the Mediæval Bæbes . Phipps also wrote and directed the music for the first few episodes. Ruth Barrett did this for the later episodes.
