Joanna C. Going (born July 22, 1963 in Washington, DC ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Going grew up in Newport as the oldest of six children. She studied for two years at Emerson College in Boston , then at the New York American Academy of Dramatic Arts .

She made her debut in 1986 on the television series Search for Tomorrow ; from 1987 to 1989 she was in the television series Another World . For her role in the pilot episodes of the television series Dark Shadows (1991), she was nominated for the Soap Opera Digest Award in 1992 . In the comedy Damn, I Want You (1997) she played one of the leading roles alongside Brendan Fraser . In the thriller Phantoms (1998) she played the role of scientist Jennifer Pailey , who, together with her underage sister Lisa ( Rose McGowan ), visits a place whose inhabitants have been murdered by a sinister creature. In the television thriller My Silent Partner (2006), she played the lead role of a policewoman helping a gang boss in the divorce battle against her husband.

Going has been married to actor Dylan Walsh since 2004 , with whom she has a daughter who was born in 2003.
