The Snake King (Original title: The Snake King , title in the film: Snakeman ) is an American adventure - horror thriller by Allan A. Goldstein from the year 2005 , that of Nu Image and Active Entertainment for Equity Pictures media fund GmbH & Co. KG II was produced.

At the beginning of the film, two men are killed by a huge snake in the Amazon. The remains of a man are discovered in the depths of the Amazonian jungle. Later investigations show that he must have been over 300 years old when he died. Dr. Susan Elters and Dr. Rick Gordon and a team set off on a second expedition to get to the bottom of the mystery of old age. They are led by the adventurer Matt Ford. The plane that is supposed to bring the team to the Amazon crashes, however, and the occupants survive. Matt Ford's team continues their journey, accompanied by the chief of an Indian tribe, Tika, and his brother.
After a team member disappears, the rest of the squad goes in search of him. But he can only find his body. Further attacks by the snake claim the lives of other crew members and that of the chief's brother.
Susan tries to get help, but is captured by the natives. The remaining Matt, Rick and Chief Tika meet Tim, a survivor of the first expedition. He wants to bring you to the "secret".
Matt is bitten by a snake and captured by the Indians along with Rick and Tim, the chief dies.
Rick and Tim manage to escape, but the latter is killed by the snake. Susan is able to nurse Matt to health and is led to the secret by the chief of the natives, since she saved his son's life.
Rick's boss Simon comes to the jungle after a call from Susan with a special unit. However, he and Rick turn against Susan, who joins the natives.
Little by little the special unit is decimated by the snake, the natives as well as Susan and Matt until a showdown takes place in a cave. In this cave is also the secret: There is a spring with life-extending water.
Rick's face is burned by the snake's saliva and Simon is torn apart by the multi-headed snake, so that only Matt and Susan survive, but the snake does nothing to them, as Susan and the chief performed a ritual that made them untouchable.
In the end, Susan reveals to Matt that water is the key to prolonged life and the two kiss.
