Boaz Davidson

Boaz Davidson ( Hebrew בועז דוידזון; ) (Born November 8, 1943 in Tel Aviv , Palestine ) is an Israeli film director , screenwriter and producer who became known in Germany primarily for the first four parts of the Eis am Stiel film series, where he brought parts of his youthful experiences with him as a director .

Life

Boaz Davidson began his film career as a director and screenwriter in Israel and moved to the United States in 1975 .

His 1977 film Eis am Stiel , for which he also worked as a screenwriter, is based on real experiences from his life. The character Benny Weiss represents himself. In 1982 Davidson shot The Last American Virgin, an American remake of his own box office success.

In the 1980s, Davidson worked with the production company Cannon Films and its founders Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus . Since the late 1980s, Davidson has been working primarily as a producer and executive producer. His last directorial work so far appeared in 1997.

In addition to numerous B-films , he is also involved in Hollywood cinema productions as a producer. Since 1992 he has been working with the production company Nu Image, from which Millennium Films emerged in 1996. Both are headed by Avi Lerner , Davidson is their Head of Development and Creative Affairs.

His work as a director spans more than two dozen productions. As a writer he was involved in 50 films, as a producer in various functions in more than 160.
