Crocodile is an American animal horror film directed by Tobe Hooper that was released in 2000 . A giant crocodile takes revenge for the destruction of its eggs.

action

At night two hobby anglers come across a clutch of crocodiles on the bank and disrespectfully destroy the eggs. The mother animal does not let them get away with it and mercilessly tears them both apart. A group of young people also spends the weekend at the lake. After a night of partying, one of them, Hubs, is devoured by the beast, including the landing stage, unnoticed by the others. The next morning, the gang is stuck in the mud with engine failure. They were driven off into the shore zone because the reptile cut the line to the jetty. The crocodile starts ramming the party friends' houseboat, causing it to collapse before their eyes. The nerves are on edge. The return journey must now be made on foot through swampy areas. But here, too, the eight-meter-long beast lies in wait for them. In the area people tell the story of Flat Dog , a giant crocodile that has devoured many residents in order to get revenge for the destruction of its clutch.

A general store where everyone hopes to be saved does not offer any protection from the predator. It quickly broke through the wooden walls. One after the other must give up their lives. The survivors' injuries make progress difficult. During a rest, they discover a crocodile egg that Hubs did as a prank in Claire's backpack. The crocodile is attracted by the smell. Claire, guided by her feminine instinct, holds the egg in front of his nose. At this moment the young animal begins to hatch. The crocodile's protective instinct makes its aggression fade. It takes the junior carefully in its mouth and carries him to the water. Duncan, Claire and Brady watch him go.

Reviews

“With effective, macabre horror like 'Blutgericht in Texas' (1974) or 'Poltergeist' (1982), Tobe Hooper achieved cult status, with rubbish like 'Fire Syndrome' (1989) he gambled away his reputation. This blend of common teen horror and monster trash shows that Hooper is still good as a veteran. "
