Danny Lerner

Danny Lerner (* 1952 in Haifa , Israel ; † March 6, 2015 in Simi Valley , California ) was an Israeli film producer who also worked as a screenwriter and director . Avi Lerner , who also works as a film producer, is his brother.

Life

Danny Lerner began his film career in 1986 as a recording and production manager at Nu World. Since 1989 he has mainly worked as a film producer. In 1994 he wrote his first screenplay for a film, directed by Yossi wine was Never Say Die . A little later, in 1999, he made his directorial debut with the film Betrayed .

Lerner has worked on films by Jean-Claude Van Damme , Chuck Norris and Dolph Lundgren . He has worked together for many years with the director and film producer Boaz Davidson .

Until the 2000s he mainly participated in B and low budget films . Many of the films were released as direct-to-video productions. It wasn't until 2007, with the production of Kill Bobby Z , that Lerner took part in several major Hollywood films.
