Derailed - Terror im Zug (Original title: Derailed ) is an American action film from 2002 . The leading role of Jacques Kristoff was played by Belgian actor Jean-Claude Van Damme and directed by Bob Misiorowski . The framework plot (the kidnapping of a train ) has some parallels to the meeting point on the death bridge .

action

Jacques Kristoff works as a NATO secret agent and is currently on vacation in Vienna with his wife, daughter and son . But the idyll is over when his superior asks him to accompany the high-tech thief Galina Konstantin on a train from Bratislava to Munich .

Kristoff soon realizes that the job is not just about "harmless babysitting" (according to his manager). It turns out that Galina has a bag with her that contains vials of the biological warfare agent SP-43, which is made up of modified smallpox viruses. Galina stole this bioweapon from a terrorist laboratory.

Therefore the train is stormed by the stolen terrorists under the leadership of the fanatical Mason Cole. They take hostages and want the weapons back. To prevent a disaster, Jacques faces the criminals to fight. In the end, he manages to kill the brigadier general.

Reviews

“Disappointing Van Damme vehicle with which the Belgian beating star cannot build on past successes. Confused subplots make the conventional action film completely confusing. "
