Keith Jan Carradine (born August 8, 1949 in San Mateo , California ) is an American actor , director and singer .

Life

After completing his studies, Carradine initially had various stage appearances, including in the 1969 musical Hair . 1971 made his first feature film appearance in McCabe & Mrs. Miller by Robert Altman . Also under Altman, he played one of his most famous roles as a young outlaw in the film Thieves Like Us three years later . In 1975 Carradine received an Oscar for best song for the title I'm Easy from the film Nashville . He made his directorial debut in 2000 with the film A Shade Of Gray .

Carradine is married to actress Hayley DuMond for the second time . He is the son of actor John Carradine , who was one of the most famous supporting actors for decades, the brother of Robert Carradine and half-brother of David Carradine and Michael Bowen . His daughter Martha Plimpton comes from a relationship with his colleague Shelley Plimpton and is also an actress.
