Dana Medřická
Dana Medřická (born July 11, 1920 in Prague ; † January 21, 1983 there ) was a Czech actress .
Life
After attending a girls' high school in Prague, Dana Medřická decided against her strict father's wishes and began studying acting at the Prague Conservatory , which she broke off in 1940 in favor of a theater engagement in Brno . After further theater engagements in Pilsen and Prague , she played for a long time at Divadlo na Vinohradech . With the beginning of the 1950s, Medřická was increasingly seen in Czech films. Until her death, she was seen in television and film productions such as Ikarie XB 1 , The woman behind the counter and A house with a thousand faces . She also played in German-language film productions such as Der Schneider von Ulm and Tag der Idioten .
From 1945 until his death in 1979 Medřická was married to the actor Václav Vydra . The actor Václav Vydra also comes from the marriage . After her husband died after a long illness, she was finally in a relationship with a Spaniard who was one of her admirers and whom she married in 1981; she remained married to him until her death in 1983. She died on January 21, 1983 at the age of 62 of complications from a heart attack .
