The Longing of My Heart ( Ae Dil Hai Mushkil ) is a Bollywood romantic drama film directed by Karan Johar , who also directed the script and produced the film. The main actors in the film are Ranbir Kapoor , Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan . Also are in the movie Fawad Khan , Shahrukh Khan , Alia Bhatt , Lisa Haydon and Imran to see Abbas as a guest star.

Ayan Sanger and Alizeh Khan meet by chance in London. Both feel a sympathy, kiss and spend the night together. After discovering that their respective partners are cheating on them too, they break up with them. Alizeh Khan and Ayan Sanger go to Paris to spend a week together. While Ayan falls in love with Alizeh, she thinks he is a friend. One day Alizeh meets her ex-boyfriend DJ Ali, who wants to reconcile with her. Alizeh then becomes unsure, distances himself from Ayan and hardly speaks to him anymore. A few days later, Alizeh calls and invites Ayan to her wedding with Ali in Lucknow. Ayan is petrified when he hears this, but accepts the invitation. At the wedding, he tells Alizeh that he loves her, but she rejects his feelings, leading Ayan to leave the ceremony heartbroken.
On the way to Frankfurt , Ayan meets a poet at Saba airport who is on her way to Vienna. She comforts Ayan and gives him a piece of paper with a poem and her phone number. Ayan called after three months that he was in Vienna and wanted to visit her. Saba meets him in a disco and they sleep together. Ayan learns that Saba is divorced and that there is actually no place in her heart for love again. Ayan also meets Saba's ex-husband Tahir Taliyar Khan in a gallery, who tells him that one-sided love is not weakness, but strength. So he finally calls Alizeh and tries to get in touch with her again and he sends her pictures of Saba to make her jealous. That seems to be successful, because one day Alizeh informs Ayan that she is coming to Vienna and wants to meet him. Ayan invites her to dinner and Alizeh thinks that Ayan has now found love in Saba, which makes her happy. But gradually Saba begins to develop feelings for Ayan, but he loves Alizeh. When Saba realizes this, she leaves Ayan.
Ayan continues to love Alizeh and becomes a famous singer. One day he meets Ali and learns that he has broken up with Alizeh. Hoping to find his great love again, Ayan goes to their old meeting place. There he waits until Alizeh actually arrives. He is overjoyed, but now he has to hear from Alizeh that she has been diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and that she will not live long. Ayan and Alizeh are now trying to make the most of the time they have together. Ayan tries to get Alizeh to love him, to no avail. This leads to an argument between the two, and Alizeh decides to leave Ayan. Eventually, Ayan makes peace with the fact that, at best, he and Alizeh can be friends and nothing more.
The screen goes black and pans back to the beginning where Ayan, still a popular singer, gives an interview based on the love of his life. Ayan sings the song Channa Mereya , from which he was inspired by Alizeh, and then finishes the interview.

The film was released on Diwali weekend and was a huge hit at the box office. In Germany, the film was shown at on October 27, 2016 one day before the international theatrical release, titled Ae Dil Hai Mushkil - Love is a difficult affair of the heart , but in the original language with English subtitles ( subtitles ).
The television premiere of the German dubbed version took place on November 11, 2017 on the free private broadcaster Zee.One .
Soundtrack
On August 30, 2016, the music title for the film was also released digitally as a soundtrack. The music rights were acquired from Sony Music India. The complete album for it was released on October 26th, 2016. Furthermore, on November 2nd, 2016 the music was released on YouTube .

The German dubbed version was produced on the occasion of the DVD release on October 6, 2017 on behalf of the German film label Rapid Eye Movies by the dubbing company Berliner Synchron Wenzel Lüdecke , dialogue director was Nadine Geist , who also wrote the dialogue book.
The principle of continuity was observed when casting the voice actors, so the well-known Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor , Anushka Sharma , Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan received their German celebratory voices Marcel Collé , Rubina Nath , Giuliana Jakobeit and Pascal Breuer .
