Dangal is an Indian biography by Nitesh Tiwari about the former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his two daughters Babita Kumari Phogat and Geeta Kumari Phogat . It is a Bollywood film co-produced by Walt Disney Pictures with Aamir Khan , who also starred in the film. action
The former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat was able to win many national tournaments, but he had to bury his hope that one of his sons could follow in his footsteps, because the Indian has only four daughters. One day he discovers the talent of two of his daughters for wrestling and begins to train them. The first victory of Mahavir's daughter Geeta gives him hope. Even if he is proud of Geeta and Babita, who want to fight for fame and recognition at the Commonwealth Games, the two initially encounter social resistance that needs to be overcome. Mahavir cannot be there in her last competition, but Geeta wins even without the presence of her father, who previously made it clear to her that her opponent would not simply be Angelica, but represent all those who discriminate against women, who are only capable of housework and would prefer to get married at a young age. Geeta becomes the idol of many women in India through her victory.
