Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan ([ʋɪd̪jaː baːlən] Tamil : வித்யா பாலன், Hindi : विद्या बालन , Vidyā Bālan; born January 1, 1979 in Chembur , Mumbai ) is an Indian Bollywood actress and lives in Mumbai, India . She is known for portraying strong female protagonists, and she also contributes to changes in the concept of the Hindi film heroine.

Life

Vidya Balan was the daughter of PR Balan, the Vice President of ETC Channel, and a Tamil housewife in Palakkad , Kerala , born but grew up in Mumbai , where she the St. Anthony's Girls High School and later the St. Xavier's College of the University of Mumbai . The linguistically gifted student who, among other Tamil , Malayalam , Marathi , English , Hindi , and Bengali dominated, made her university degree in sociology .

Career

Balan stood in front of the camera early. In 1995 she starred in the sitcom Hum Paanch at the age of 17 . Vidya Balan was supposed to star in the Malayalam film Chakram , but the film was canceled during production. Your attempts to make films failed for the time being. After that, she turned to television and advertised. Since 1998 she has shot many commercials. Mostly it was directed by Pradeep Sarkar . Vidya also took on supporting roles in music videos.

A Telugu and Tamil version, Anaamika and Nee Enge En Anbe , hit theaters two years later. In 2013 she was appointed to the competition jury of the 66th Cannes International Film Festival . In 2014 she played the title role in Bobby Jasoos as a detective who dresses up to solve cases. It was not successful and the film failed to convince the critics, as well as in Shaadi Ke Side Effects (2014), in which she plays Trisha, who quarrels with her husband after the birth of her daughter.

In the fourth collaboration with Emraan Hashmi , Balan can be seen in Mahesh Bhatt's romantic drama Hamari Adhuri Kahani , which is based on the love story of Bhatt's parents.
