Waqt ( Hindi , वक़्त, vaqt, lit .: time , English: The Race against the Time , German title: Tief im Herzen ) is a Bollywood film from 2005 with the focus on father-son love and conflict, not to be confused with Yash Chopra's film Waqt from 1965.

action

Ishwarchand Thakur is a toy maker and self-made man. He loves his son Aditya more than anything. But this never taught him to stand on his own two feet. He spends his parents 'money with full hands: a charter flight for a nice weekend, nice clothes, his own apartment with seven bedrooms - at the parents' expense.

He also falls in love with Pooja, the daughter of Ishwarchand's worst enemy, the industrialist Natu. In return, Aditya lets the arranged wedding cancel, which annoys his father. But this still cannot let go of his beloved son. When Ishwarchand fell seriously ill, he was unable to convey this news to his son, because his dreams of a film career together with the surprising and secret wedding with Pooja and her pregnancy made it almost impossible for the father to give an ultimatum against the son.

Yet Ishwarchand is running out of time. Time he doesn't have. Time that he would need to finally raise his son to be independent. There is only one way left: Ishwarchand throws his beloved boy out of the apartment and forces him to look after his own family on his own - at the price that the father is so estranged from his beloved son, and Ishwarchand's greatest wish is still his own grandson to experience is a long way off.
