action

Koi Mil Gaya is the story of a mentally retarded young man named Rohit. Although he seems in his early thirties, he has the brains of a twelve-year-old because of an accident his mother had during her pregnancy: Rohit's father, Sanjay, a scientist, tried to contact aliens. When they actually answer and come to earth, the accident occurs in which Sanjay dies and his wife is injured, which is why Rohit is born disabled.

Years later, Rohit repeats sixth grade over and over and barely manages to get into seventh. One day he meets the pretty and friendly Nisha and after a few pranks on Rohit's side and some misunderstandings from Nisha, the two become friends. She teaches Rohit how to use computers, and the two play around with Rohit's father's old PC, whereupon the aliens are called.

Rohit and Nisha rescue one of the creatures from the woods, hide it from the police and call it Jadoo (magic). The fact that Rohit and Nisha become friends really annoys Nisha's jealous friend Raj - he annoys Rohit and decides to marry Nisha, who has no intention of marrying him at all, and immediately knocks him down. Rohit is devastated. During a conversation he has with his mother about Nisha's alleged engagement, Jadoo learns that it was his spaceship and that it is responsible for Rohit's mental abilities or lack of them, and so he uses his powers and heals him.

The next day, Rohit not only discovers that he no longer needs his glasses, but also that his intelligence has developed and that he can actually keep up with his classmates. He enters and wins a dance competition to impress Nisha and wins a basketball match and defeats Raj. Later he confesses his love to Nisha, at her home in front of her parents.

The police are still chasing Jadoo and manage to catch him. Rohit risks his life to save Jadoo and brings him back to his spaceship. The alien leaves Earth, taking Rohit's new skills with him. Rohit is taken into custody, but after a trial he is found innocent and released because he is mentally retarded.

During a walk with Nisha, Raj reappears and annoys him by throwing a basketball at him, accusing him of whoever gave him his skills is gone. Rohit gets angry and kicks the basketball, and Raj, who is hit by him, passes out. Apparently Jadoo has returned its abilities to Rohit, and when both Rohit and Nisha look up at the sky, they notice Jadoo's spaceship return.
