action

Natalie, a employed architect in New York , is 30 years old and because of her overweight and low self-esteem, her work colleagues do not pay much attention to them and girls are exploited for everything every day . Natalie doesn't believe in love, even if her colleague Whitney, who loves romantic comedies , tries to convince her otherwise. Her colleague and best friend Josh also tries again and again to encourage her, but is unsuccessful. One day she was robbed and passed out at a subway station . She wakes up in the hospital and an almost perfect world appears to her, like in a fairy tale. All men find her adorable, New York is clean and full of flowers. As she leaves the hospital, she is hit by the limousine of the rich and handsome Blake, who falls in love with her on the spot, drives her home and leaves his phone number in a flower. Her chaotic apartment has been transformed into a large, beautiful apartment, her grumpy neighbor Donny has turned into a "model gay" who advises her in all situations. When she later arrives at the office, all of her colleagues are nice to her, except for Whitney, who has turned into a real bitch. Natalie is now the lead architect . She is utterly confused why she is walking Josh in a park to tell him everything. But when he saves the rich yoga ambassador Isabella from suffocating, Natalie fades into the background. She realizes that she has been put into a romantic comedy.

She tries to find out how to get back into the "normal" world, starts a fight in the subway station and is finally arrested by the police. She calls Blake, who bail for her. They meet up, have a nice evening and spend the night together. Natalie hoped that by finding “true love” - Blake - she would be transported back into her world. But it doesn't work. The next day they are both invited to Josh and Isabella for a drink . It turns out to be an engagement party: the two are going to get married.

On the day of the wedding, Natalie realizes that she loves Josh. She dumps the conservative Blake and bursts into the wedding ceremony to prevent the wedding, but then she realizes that the way to reality is to gain self-confidence. She realizes that the greatest love of all is for yourself. She leaves the wedding ceremony, steals the wedding car and has an accident, whereupon she wakes up from a coma in reality .

Natalie makes her way to work and confidently presents her plans to her colleagues. It turns out after that that Josh has long been in love with her. Finally they kiss.

IMDb

“'Isn't It Romantic' deals with the genre of rom-coms in a cynical way: clichés like the gay, always slightly querky styled neighbor next door, who is always there immediately, the obligatory makeover before the first date with the dream prince or the sweet, positive pop songs in the background including a leading actress who speaks to herself off-screen, get their fat off with a lot of irony. "

- Irina Blum : Cineman

"In conceptual terms, the movie has more in common with 'Scream', in that it's an examination of genre clichés (in this case romantic comedies) that both satirizes and embraces them."

“Conceptually, the film has more to do with ' Scream! 'as long as it deals with genre clichés (in this case romantic comedies), which he both satirically and appropriated. "

- Gary Thompson : Philadelphia Daily News

“It's ridiculous, and it's wonderful. Falling in love is stupid like that. "

“It's crazy and wonderful. Falling in love is so silly. "
