Stephanie Zacharek

Stephanie Zacharek (born August 13, 1963 ) is an American film critic .

Career

She began her career as Editor-in-Chief with the Crosby Vandenburgh Group from 1986 to 1988. She then worked for Boston Phoenix and Inc. Magazine in the 1990s. It was only between 1999 and 2010 that she became famous as a film critic and editor-in-chief of Salon.com . In 2010 she was recruited as Movieline's chief critic .

In April 2013 she moved to the Voice Media Group , where she has since become known for criticizing The Village Voice , among other things . She also worked as a journalist for CNN.com , Los Angeles Times , Entertainment Weekly , Rolling Stone and NPR while holding numerous full-time jobs . She has been a mentor in the Talent Press program at the Berlinale since 2010.

Zacharek received the Pulitzer Prize in 2015 .

In 2018 she was appointed to the competition jury of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival .

Zacharek himself currently lives in New York and is married to Charles Taylor, also a film critic.
