Rya Kihlstedt (born July 23, 1970 in Lancaster , Pennsylvania ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Some of Rya Kihlstedt's ancestors are of Swedish descent. She graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs in 1991 with a degree in theater arts .

Kihlstedt made her debut in a larger role alongside Rutger Hauer in the action thriller Arctic Blue from 1993. In the miniseries Die Freibeuterinnen (1995) she was seen alongside Carla Gugino and Mira Sorvino . In the action comedy Back to Home Alone (1997) she played the role of the North Korean spy Alice Ribbons , who tries to take a computer chip from the boy Alex Pruitt ( Alex D. Linz ). In the SF television thriller Cloned Future (1998) followed a larger role alongside Peter Gallagher and Leonard Nimoy . In 2001 she played in the SF thriller Angel of Death from the Depth in which she took over the title role.

Kihlstedt has been married to actor Gil Bellows since 1994 and has two children. The musician Carla Kihlstedt is her sister.
