Sendhil Amithab Ramamurthy (born May 17, 1974 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actor .

Life

Sendhil Ramamurthy was born on May 17, 1974 in Chicago, Illinois to Tamil-Indian parents. He has a sister who he grew up with in San Antonio . Ramamurthy is married to actress Olga Sosnovska and has a daughter named Halina with her.

From 2006 to 2010 he played in the NBC - TV series Heroes Indian Professor Mohinder Suresh . This role was written for a 55-year-old, but Ramamurthy was able to convince at the casting , so the role was rewritten for him. From 2010 to 2012 he played the role of Jai Wilcox , a CIA agent, in the action and drama series Covert Affairs .

He is the cousin of actor and director Jay Chandrasekhar .
