Claudio Maniscalco

Claudio Maniscalco (born August 18, 1962 in Mölln ) is a German actor , voice actor , singer and theater producer .

Life

At the age of nine, Claudio Maniscalco took part in various theater productions such as Rumpelstiltskin in his native Mölln. His mother is a German singer, his father was an Italian police officer.

In 1978 he passed the entrance examination at the drama school in Hamburg , but did not begin his training until 1982 in Berlin (due to concerns of his parents) . There was a student of the theater director Hilla Preuß , who came from the Gustaf Gründgens era and successfully completed his studies in 1985 with the so-called parity degree.

In addition, he was trained in singing and chanson by Diseuse Ada Hecht . He received singing lessons for musicals from Vicky Hall . In 1983 he took part in the musical / chanson / song category at the national singing competition in Berlin - where he took 1st place. From 1984 to 1986 he gained practical stage experience as a leading actor and singer with the Berlin comedians . He was shaped by numerous mentors and sponsors such as u. a. Wolfgang Spier , Helmut Baumann , Katja Nottke and Anna Vaughan .

Until 1995 he had a few concerts with the RIAS Rundfunkorchester Berlin under the direction of Kai Rautenberg , Hildegard Knef's pianist .

In 1993 he directed the legendary Edith Piaf Revue for Corny Littmann , which was sold out for years at the Schmidt Theater in Hamburg . In 1995 he was the main actor in the musical Ladyboys by Gregor Köhne in TIVOLI .

From 1999 to 2002 he was the artistic director and artistic director of the Berlin Volkstheater Hansa . Maniscalco ended this work prematurely because he did not see his ideas of an experimental theater realized. Among other things, he staged musical revues during his tenure such as Die Bettelkönigin von Moabit with Brigitte Mira , in which he was also involved in the book. Also in the musical Heinz Rühmann - the clown with Christian Schodos in the title role. He staged and successfully premiered the musical in the presence of Hertha and Peter Rühmann. Nominations for the Golden Curtain of the Berlin Theater Club followed.

In 2000 Claudio Maniscalco played the singer and actor Roy Black in the musical All in White. In 2001 he was in the Small Revue in Berlin's Friedrichstadt-Palast in Günter Neumanns Insulaner: See, this is Berlin! to see.

He has been on the road with the Viva l'Amore concert program since 2003. His own stage program with songs by Dean Martin still takes him to various theaters and gala events.

In 2008 he celebrated his 20th stage anniversary with the one-week guest performance program The multiple Personality Best-of-Show at the BKA Theater in Berlin. His greatest successes include the roles as Valmont in the classic Dangerous Liaisons in Berlin's Charlottenburg Palace and as Jedermann at the Clingenburg Festival .

Time and again, his roles lead him to the side of well-known actors such as Senta Berger , Suzanne von Borsody , Dirk Bach , Nadja Tiller , Hannelore Elsner , Jan Josef Liefers and Klaus Löwitsch . In addition to Harald Juhnke , he played as a woman in the series Zwei alten Hasen . In 1999 he was seen in six episodes in the series In allerfreund in the ARD evening program as cyclist Axel. criticism

The Tagesspiegel wrote in 2008:

“In the last 20 years, the man has simply done everything: played at the Theater des Westens, founded various local theaters with her permanent colleague Katja Nottke, ran the Hansa Theater, played in movies and TV series, spoke dubbing and in a lot of music shows at the Stand on stage. (...) Not wrong either: The showman still looks pretty good. "
