VeggieTales is an American computer-animated comic series for children that aims to convey Christian values . In July 2009 the series was released in German on DVD.
history
The VeggieTales were conceived by Phil Vischer, an animator and specialist in computer animation . The first episode was released in December 1993 under the title Where's God When I'm S-Scared? broadcast. The main characters in the stories are Bob Tomato and Larry Cucumber . The stories depict Christian values and attitudes towards life in an entertaining way. According to his own statements, Vischer pursued the goal of “improving the coexistence of people by spreading God's truthfulness”. The episodes are produced by the American production company Big Idea Entertainment , a subsidiary of DreamWorks Animation . The series is popular with evangelical families in the United States and among students from denominational Christian colleges .
