Montgomery "Monty" Arnold (born June 26, 1967 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German actor , comedian and voice actor .

Professional background

Montgomery Arnold moved with his parents to Saarland at the age of 5 and was there on stage for the first time at the carnival when he was 17 . Later he performed at various cabaret evenings in a jazz cellar in Saarbrücken and met Hanns Dieter Hüsch at the Saarländischer Rundfunk , where he worked as a cabaret artist. He then moved to Hamburg and had some engagements in the local cabaret scene. That's how he came to the Quatsch Comedy Club . He became known through the series Comedy Factory and the Quatsch Comedy Club and was seen in German film and television productions, including in the comedy The Moving Man based on the comic of the same name by Ralf König . In his humorous off-camera comments on Upps! - The breakdown show on Super RTL , he based his way of speaking on the language and puns of Hanns Dieter Hüsch in the series Fathers of Clothes .

As a voice actor, Montgomery Arnold has been the German voice of Tinky-Winky from the Teletubbies since 1997 . He also spoke the role of private detective Tony Tough in the adventure game of the same name and the role of Rufus in the adventure series Deponia . Since November 1, 2008, he has been the voice actor for Rick in the LGBT animation series Rick & Steve . Montgomery Arnold was one of the regular speakers in the radio play series Kommissar Dobranski .

Montgomery Arnold retired from cabaret and comedy in 2000. Since 2003 he has been teaching the history of musicals; he also teaches speech training. Arnold gained experience in musicals in 2005 in the stage version of Die Drei von der Gasstelle at the Schlosspark Theater in Berlin, where he took on the role of Hans , which was played by Heinz Rühmann in the film . In 2010 he wrote the script for the short film Inside AStA as an image film for the AStA of the University of Hamburg and directed it. He lives in Hamburg and is committed to safer sex , education and LGBT topics and has been a moderator at Christopher Street Day events , among other things .
