Ody (Gregor Koehne)

Gregor Köhne (stage name Ody vam Bruok ; born December 26, 1960 in Solingen ) is a German poet, reciter and playwright.

Life

The director of the KAMA theater in Berlin, Katja Nottke , recognized his talent for writing. With the dramaturgical support of her father, Joachim Nottke , Gregor Köhne wrote his first musical Mixed Pickles , which premiered at KAMA in autumn 1993. In 1994 the musical Ladyboys followed and in 1995 the first work as a writer and director Notekicks , a solo program for the singer Michael Franic .

Since 1996, Köhne has focused on his poetic work and henceforth calls himself Ody, a reminiscence of the long-suffering and gullible dog Odie in the Garfield comic.

Ody's style, a mixture of wordplay, dramaturgy, rhyme, rhythm and above all humor, is reminiscent of Wilhelm Busch and Heinz Erhardt . His texts have been published in books, magazines and on CDs and are recited in front of an audience. To date, he is the only winner of the Wilhelm Busch Prize , which was one of the top three winners for three years in a row (1st prize in 2001, 2nd prize in 2002 and 2003). In 2007 he won the special humor prize at the Jokers Poetry Prize , and in 2014 the Meerbuscher Literature Prize. Since 2006 Ody has presented text exhibitions (pin-up poetry) and his own poetry programs a. a. with the lyric ensemble " Das HühnchenTrio" in front of an audience.
