Edith Jeske

Edith Jeske (born October 29, 1957 in Euskirchen ) is a German lyricist , librettist and lecturer.

Life

In 1983 and 1985/86 she took part in the pop course in Hamburg. Among her teachers were Ernst Bader , Peter Horton , Knut Kiesewetter and Walter Brandin . In 1989 she took over the subject of texts in the pop course, succeeding Ernst Bader . In the late 1980s until the mid-1990s, wrote they Satire spotlights and moderated regular music programs at WDR 2 and DLF 1995 to 1996 she worked as Storylinerin for ZDF - Soap .

From 1994 to 2001 she was involved as a text writer in numerous productions of the Schmidt Theater Hamburg and Tivoli, including the successful productions Pension Schmidt and Swinging St Pauli . The latter was also played as Swinging Berlin under the direction of Helmut Baumann in the Theater am Kurfürstendamm in Berlin , in its original version on numerous stages in Germany. Edith Jeske wrote Tim Fischer's Rinnsteinprinzessin (music by Rainer Bielfeldt ), performed for example in the revue Café Amazonien by Franz Wittenbrink . Edith Jeske wrote for Ernie Reinhardt ( Lilo Wanders ), Claus Vinçon , Horst Frank , Tango Five , April Hailer , Wolfgang Petry , Jürgen Marcus , Oliver Thomas , Oliver Haidt , Rico Seith , Franziska , Janis Nikos , Patrick Lindner , Marianne Cathomen , Oswald Sattler , Graham Bonney , Norman Langen , Olaf Malolepski , Schürzenjäger , Claudia Jung , Andreas Martin , Viva Voce , Roland Kaiser , Christian Lais and others. She has been writing numerous lyrics for the comedy duo Emmi and Herr Willnowsky since 2001.

She worked and works u. a. with the following composers: Martin Lingnau , Oliver Corvino , Christian Bruhn , Willy Klüter , Richard Wester , David Klein , Tommy Mustac and Dieter Brink .

In July 2011 the first German-language manual for songwriters was published by Edith Jeske in collaboration with Tobias Reitz .

In 2012 she worked as a lyricist on the album Eine Frau by Jasmin Tabatabai , for which she received the ECHO in the “Jazz” category.

Memberships

  • From the mid-80s to 1997 Edith Jeske was a delegate of the extraordinary and affiliated lyricists of GEMA . She has been a full GEMA member since 1998.
  • In 1996 she founded the Celle School .
  • Jeske has been a member of Mensa in Germany since 2001 .

Awards

In 2009 she and Axel Poike received the Bolten Baeckers Prize.
