Axel Poike

Axel Poike (born October 4, 1961 in Freital ) is a German actor, director and author.

Poike completed his training from 1983 to 1987 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art and graduated as a graduate actor. From 1987 to 1990 he was engaged on the stages of the city of Zwickau and directed for the first time. Since 1990 he has been working as a freelance writer, director and actor. In addition to numerous plays, he wrote two revues for the Friedrichstadtpalast and several programs for the porcupines as well as two musicals with the composer Thomas Bürkholz . As an author and director, he was responsible for the documentaries “800 Years of Dresden”, “1200 Years of Halle” and “The Friedrichstadtpalast”.

On October 13, 2009 he and Edith Jeske received the Bolten Baeckers Prize .

Poike is a board member of the Dramatiker Union and lives in Berlin.
