Ernst Bader (born June 7, 1914 in Stettin ; †  August 10, 1999 in Norderstedt ) was a German actor , songwriter and composer .

Life

Bader grew up in Stettin , where he attended the König-Wilhelm-Gymnasium from 1920. In 1923 the family moved to Kolberg , where he attended the Domgymnasium , but in 1933 switched to the Berlin drama school without graduating . In addition to his studies, he worked as a pianist , played theater and appeared as a cabaret artist in variety shows . It was during this time that his first song lyrics were written. In 1936 he passed his acting examination and then became a regular soldier in the Wehrmacht . After being wounded in World War II , he was hired as an actor after his recovery and took part in several films that served Nazi propaganda and from which he later distanced himself.

In Hamburg, after the end of the Second World War, Ernst Bader worked as a lecturer for the international music publishers Hans Sikorski , and in the 1950s and early 1960s it was mainly nocturnal. The main source of income for light music at that time were the countless dance bands, to which the lecturers recommended new sheet music after the evening performances. This was the only way to ensure that the audience demanded new titles for the popular jukebox . Many of the editors at the time therefore came up with the obvious idea of writing the texts and / or compositions for the distributed sheet music themselves. And so Ernst Bader devoted himself increasingly to writing and composing. In the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s these were mainly hits . He wrote one of his first texts in 1951 for Friedel Hensch und die Cyprys ( About the year when the cornflowers are in bloom ). With Freddy Quinn's debut title Heimweh Bader came up with his first number one text in 1956. In 1966 he wrote another number one for Freddy Quinn with Hundred Men and One Order . His third text, which reached the top of the charts, was Dalidas on the day when the rain came in 1959. He wrote around 900 hits and chanson texts, ten of which reached the top 10 of the music magazine Musikmarkt . Bader wrote several texts for some interpreters, such as B. for Alexandra (10), Charles Aznavour (7, including his greatest success in Germany, Du dass dich geht'n ), Gus Backus (7), Freddy Quinn (7), Nana Mouskouri (5) and Caterina Valente (5 ).

He spent the last years of his life in a nursing home in Norderstedt near Hamburg , where he invited well-known singers, for example Su Kramer , to concerts. Ernst Bader wrote several books, including short stories Seniors write not only for seniors .
