Rag Doll (dt. Rag Doll ) is a by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio written song from 1964 The Four Seasons was taken. The song was a number one hit in the United States and stayed on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks . The German version comes from the Five Tops , a formation around Günter Kallmann and Leo Leandros , who had a top 10 hit with it. Other cover versions are by Brian Poole And The Tremeloes , Nighttrain , Steeleye Span and Del Shannon .

Bob Gaudio said he was inspired to write the song by a girl with a dirty face who washed the windshield of his car for change and paid $ 20 for it.
