Andreas Reichenberger (born November 24, 1770 in Vienna , † October 26, 1854 in Linz ) was an Austrian Catholic theologian .

Life

Born in Vienna, Andreas Reichenberger studied theology at the general seminary established by Emperor Joseph II in his hometown from 1788 . After being ordained a priest in 1792, Andreas Reichenberger was employed in pastoral care in Hadersdorf am Kamp in Lower Austria . 1796 followed Andreas Reichenberger only 26-year-old a call to the professor of pastoral theology at the University of Vienna , where he was in 1799 for Dr. theol. PhD .

Appointed canon in Linz in 1814 , Andreas Reichenberger took over the leadership of the episcopal seminary there in the same year , a position he held until 1824.
