from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nighttrain was a German rock - pop formation that originated in Berlin and was active until 1989.

history

The driving force behind Nighttrain were bandleader Heinz Huth (vocals and guitar) and his brother Jürgen (drums), who started their careers in 1967 when they founded the beat band The Shocs, whose first single was called Lonely Days . The young band beat professional bands like Birth Control or Odd Persons out of the running at band competitions . In 1972 the band was renamed Nighttrain.

From 1973 to 1976 Metronome Records released several singles such as Elisabeth , Love Buggy and the Hallo Bimmelbahn produced by Michael Holm . As a touring band, the troupe accompanied Christian Anders and John Kincade through Europe. The Berlin band celebrated a great commercial success with the CBS single What does the dog do on the sofa . The title turned into an airplay hit. The singles vacation time is also the best time and Ick renn 'durch'n park were equally successful. The single Rag Doll reached number 24 in the Austrian charts.

The Huth composition Hallo Bimmelbahn (1973) was later produced by Frank Farian and published with a new text as Gotta Go Home by Boney M. (1979). In 2010 the Hookline composed by Heinz Huth appeared again in an interpretation by the band Duck Sauce under the title Barbra Streisand .
