Heinrich Vollers (born February 19, 1583 in Berne ; † 1656 there ) was a houseman in Schlüte (farmer), organist and one of the first chroniclers of the Oldenburg region .

Life

After the killing of his father, the first organist in Bern, Gert Vollers (1564–1599), his son Heinrich was elected as his successor by the church council at the age of sixteen. He had already learned to play the organ when he was still a student at the local parish school. In addition, Vogt Enke Stadländer had instructed him in arithmetic and geodesy. In addition to the management of the inherited farm and organist, he soon took on other tasks. When surveying the Stedingerland from 1603 onwards, he was signed up as a surveyor and surveyor and kept the 550-page protocol, of which he also made copies. In 1609 he was elected church lawyer and kept the church accounts books for decades. In 1619 he was appointed accountant for all official accounts of the county of Delmenhorst and from 1630 to 1634 he also worked as a corn and kitchen clerk.

In addition to all these tasks, Vollers wrote an almost 1,000-page chronicle of the Stedingerland. He also made several versions of this chronicle, including a small chronicle of at least 600 pages in Low German . Vollers also wrote poems and songs. Vollers had a total of 18 children from two marriages. Two of his sons were pastors and three worked as organists or as council and town musicians.

Voller's writings are in the Oldenburg State Library , the Oldenburg State Archives and, in part, in the archive of the Berne parish.
